I began practicing yoga in 2012 as a way to relieve anxiety. Initially, I felt out of place on the mat—I had never formally participated in sports or dance and considered myself fairly uncoordinated. Yoga remained only an occasional hobby, until I stepped into a less-formal class in April 2014. Rather than teaching a traditional flow, the instructor spent time breaking down just a handful of poses. Finally, yoga made sense, and I was hooked! I enrolled in Hyde Park Yoga Company’s inaugural RYT training and began teaching almost immediately after receiving my certification in December 2014.
In my vinyasa-based classes, I strive to create a judgment-free space for energetic but mindful exploration. My approach is rooted in the belief that yoga is accessible for all bodies. Outside of teaching yoga, I’m a freelance writer/editor and a competitive karaoke champion. Looking forward to seeing you in class!
